2020 Hereford Fall Festival Is Cancelled

The Hereford Volunteer Fire Company Fall Festival Committee, along with the Officers and members are very sorry to have to make the decision of Cancelling this year’s 21st Annual Fall Festival, which was to be held October 17th and 18th, 2020.

The Fall Festival cancellation is due to the uncertainty of not knowing when and if the physical distancing requirement may be relaxed and the requirements for sanitizing the restroom facilities, rides, games, vendor booths and special attractions, along with the health of the community in mind.

The Hereford Fall Festival Committee and Fire Company realize that the community looks forward to our Fall Festival each year. This would have been our 21st year.  The Fall Festival has gained in popularity over the years and continues to host more visitors each year.  The Fall Festival has become an annual tradition for Hereford residents, visiting guest and the Hereford Zone Business Association and Fire Company.

For several months, the Fall Festival Committee had discussed and debated how we could still host the Fall Festival.  The decision was delayed as long as possible with the hope that the COVID-19 situation would be resolved, and the Fall Festival could go on as usual.  But the committee could not delay any longer and had to regrettably notify our Vendors and attractions, that we had to cancel due to the virus.

We apologize for, and understand, any disappointment and inconvenience that this decision causes our community, our supporters, our vendors, HZBA and Fire Company members.

The Fall Festival is our largest and most profitable fundraising event of the year.  We still have the same daily operational expenses as well as the large additional expenses of paying for a new replacement fire engine that we will be ordering in the next few months.

We are incredibly grateful and appreciative for your generous donations.  We hope that you can still support us in any way you can during these difficult times.

The Hereford Fire Company is working on other ways in which we can raise funds while complying with Governor Hogan’s executive orders.

Above all, the Hereford Volunteer Fire Company is still fully staffed, ready, and has been and will continue to serve and respond to emergencies in and around the community where needed.

We would like to thank you for your understanding, patience, and support during these trying times.

Follow us on the web @https: www.herefordfire.org/

Sincerely,

The Hereford Fall Festival Committee, the Officers and Members of the Hereford Volunteer Fire Company.

Everyone  has been hit hard this year due to the COVID 19. The Hereford Volunteer Fire Company is also feeling the effects.  As a volunteer fire company, we depend on our fundraisers and donations to be able to purchase whatever equipment we need, along with running the daily operations of the company.

We had to cancel our 21st Annual Herford Fall Festival due to the concerns and safety of our vendors, community and our fire company members.  The festival is one of our largest fundraising projects for the fire company.  If you would like to help us make up some of our loss you can donate to:
